How Our Guarantee Works
Our guarantee is designed to protect you, but it does rely on your jewellery being worn as intended.
Please note that the guarantee may be void if the piece has been:

•           Exposed to water or worn during activities that may cause damage
•           Altered, removed from its original fittings, or added to another piece of jewellery
•           Used with accessories or fittings not approved by us
•           Subjected to misuse or accidental damage

 

Chains are covered when worn with a single charm. Adding multiple charms increases friction and strain, and therefore falls outside the scope of our guarantee.
General wear such as light scratching or surface marks, especially when jewellery is worn alongside other pieces is a natural part of everyday use and is not covered.

Fittings, Chains, Bracelets & Self-Fill Ashes Jewellery

Your memorial jewellery is created to be worn with confidence, and we stand behind the quality of every fitting we use. All chains, bracelet clasps and jump rings are covered by a 12 month guarantee against manufacturing faults, giving you peace of mind as you keep your loved one close.

If a fitting should fail after the 12 month period, we may still be able to help through our maintenance service. In these cases, a small repair fee may apply

What Isn’t Covered

To protect your jewellery, we ask that it is worn with care and used exactly as intended. Our guarantee does not cover:

•           General wear and tear
•           Tarnishing
•           Damage caused by misuse or accidental impact
•           Fittings that have been altered, removed, or used incorrectly

 
We also recommend regularly checking your fittings to ensure they remain secure. Borrowed Moments cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged due to everyday wear, misuse, or improper handling.

Engraved Jewellery -  12 Month Guarantee (Including Keyrings and Cufflinks)

Our engraved jewellery is created with a delicate touch. Each print and inscription is engraved onto the surface of the metal, giving a beautifully subtle, understated finish. Because of this gentle engraving process, these pieces are naturally more vulnerable to everyday wear and are best suited to occasional wear rather than daily use

When worn every day, engraved jewellery may gradually show signs of life, light scratches, softening of detail, or fading, all of which are normal for surface engraving.

We offer a 12 month guarantee against manufacturing faults on all engraved jewellery, as well as on fittings such as chains, jump rings and bracelets. This guarantee is designed to give you confidence in the craftsmanship of your piece.

When the Guarantee May Not Apply

To protect the integrity of your jewellery, the guarantee becomes void if the piece has been:

•           Misused or damaged
•           Removed from its original fittings
•           Worn on chains or bracelets not approved by us
•           Exposed to conditions that may cause unnecessary wear

 

It is especially important never to wear more than one engraved charm on the same chain or bracelet. When two engraved pieces rub together, the friction can cause premature fading or scratching. It is also important to note that key-rings should not be left to rub against metal keys, as this too will scratch the surface and deface the engraved surface.

Repairs and After-Care

If your jewellery has been damaged, we may be able to restore it through our repair service. This can include replacing or fixing clasps, renewing leather components, or re‑polishing charms to bring back their original shine. A small fee may apply, depending on the work required.
