   At Borrowed Moments, we create exquisite memorial jewellery using real silver and genuine glass as well as resin, this is to offer you the best choice of products possible. Because our jewellery is created by hand and every piece finished to a high standard, you can be sure of a luxury product that will last for generations.

   
   We carefully blend your loved one’s ashes into layers of glass or resin, ensuring they are beautifully suspended throughout the design. To add a touch of sparkle, we incorporate tiny, glittering fragments of coloured glass to the glass jewellery and a range of special glitters, crushed glass or opals and even dried flowers to our resin jewellery, creating a radiant finish that catches the light and enhances the emotional beauty of your piece. No two items are ever the same. Variations in colour and shimmer occur naturally, depending on the tones and how the ashes and sparkles settle within each piece. This makes every item uniquely yours, a personal celebration of life, crafted with precision, dignity, and deep care.

   
   We treat every order with the utmost respect, we only work on one order at a time to ensure that there is no chance of any cross-contamination and any unused ashes are safely returned to you alongside your completed jewellery, ensuring your loved one’s memory is honoured in every detail.

   The Processes
   
   For glass jewellery - When crafting our bespoke jewellery, our skilled designers carefully encase a small token of your loved one's ashes at the centre of the piece. They then meticulously layer glass in the colour of your choice and sparkly, glitter pieces of glass and then a layer of clear glass to finish, building up layers to achieve our signature ash effect. This fastidious process ensures that each piece is unique and crafted with the utmost care and respect. As each piece of jewellery is handcrafted, minor colour variations may be present in your distinct keepsake, and it may not exactly match the images displayed. These subtle differences are a result of the natural materials and artisanal process we employ, underscoring the truly unique nature of each piece. Due to the glass and glitter-glass used in our jewellery, the appearance of our pieces can vary based on lighting and background conditions during photography. This effect will also occur when the jewellery is worn, as the shade may appear slightly different depending on the surrounding lighting.

   
   

   For resin jewellery – When crafting our range of bespoke resin jewellery, we make the stones in several layers rather than just throwing it all in and hoping for the best! We begin with a background layer of sparkle and colour and then add any glitters as a base before any ash, stones, flowers, hair, fur or other inclusions are added in a layer of clear resin, this gives a wonderful floating effect and then we add a topcoat of resin to give your jewellery a finished look and to protect the inclusions thoroughly. We then finish with a light sand and polish to ensure a beautiful finished piece. A small amount of variation in colour will still occur due to the handmade nature of our products but we aim to make each piece a beautiful reminder of your loved one.
