Each piece will be as completely unique as each child, as each item is individually made by hand, no machines and no mass production line here! For this you can come along to our studio in Torpoint and I will take the imprint for you, a very quick and simple process. It will then be transformed into your own individual and unique piece of jewellery. As all pieces are created individually, a lot of care and attention to detail can be given, to create a beautiful finished piece you will be proud to wear.
Generally, children that are less than 1 year old do not have a well defined fingerprint so this jewellery line is really aimed at older children who more have defined fingerprints.
Each charm is made from fine silver which is 99.9% silver, this is a purer version of silver than the bracelets or chains that they are put onto, which are made of sterling silver, which is 92.5% and hallmarked as such. Our smaller charms are approximately the size of a five pence piece and are a nice chunky, just under 2mm depth too and our larger pendants are approximately the size of a ten pence piece, so nice substantial pieces.
Please note that fine silver is softer than sterling silver and as such it will mark or tarnish much more quickly than the sterling silver. These unique pieces should be treated with special care and polished with a soft silver cloth regularly to keep them looking nice.
