Borrowed Moments fine silver fingerprint jewellery is individually hand-crafted pieces of jewellery made from fine silver that you will treasure, from your child’s fingerprint or fingertip, a really special and unique piece made especially for you. Children’s fingerprints are not normally clearly defined until they are over 1 year old although this is not the case for every child, some will have clear prints others won’t, to be on the safe side this is why we suggest that these are for children over 1 year for the fingerprint jewellery. With our range of fingertip jewellery, this will not matter as the tip of the finger will be replicated in pure silver, so even the youngest of baby’s fingertips can be used successfully to make beautiful, unique pieces.

To make your fingerprint charm, simply choose which shape charm you require and firstly you must create an impression using the fingerprint moulding kit which we will send to you once you have placed your order. Each of the print kits contains enough material to make 2 fingerprint moulds; follow the instructions carefully and then send them back to us; we then choose the best one to make your piece of jewellery. Simply return the moulds back to us in the envelope provided and we will use our creative magic and then your finished jewellery will be despatched to you via a secure service (exact method depends on where it is being sent) 21 days after the impression moulds have been received from you.

Your personalised jewellery is not mass produced, each piece is totally bespoke and hand-made, and this is the beauty of this kind of fingerprint jewellery, each piece will not be 100% perfect like a machine made product, fine silver is a soft metal, each piece will be hand crafted and will show tiny scratch lines unlike sterling silver which is a much harder metal. The silver used is fine silver and not sterling silver, this means that it will be softer than sterling silver and it will show signs of wear and will tarnish much more than sterling silver, to prevent this your piece should be kept away from detergents and you should wipe it regularly with a silver polishing cloth to restore its shine, it will need to be cared for much more than a sterling silver piece but if you take care of it, it will last you for years.
