Training Courses Come and spend a day doing a course with us and learn how to cast baby hands and feet. Learn how to create these beautiful baby keepsakes and how you can become part of our network of casters. We offer 1 day courses in baby casting for just £250.00 a non-refundable deposit of £100.00 is due to secure your place and the remaining balance is due on the day of training. Our training days are limited to a maximum of 3 trainees to ensure that everyone gets the individual attention that is needed to perfect the methods required and that everyone gets plenty of opportunity to practice the skills that they learn on the day. The courses all run from 10am until 4pm and take place at our Torpoint, Cornwall studio, there will be an hour break for lunch, there is a pub nearby and local shops where lunch is available, money should be brought for this, or you can bring a packed lunch with you. Please also bring your own apron as casting is a messy activity! You will have training in how to get the best results, how to capture the moulds, mixing and pouring your plaster, the best ways for finishing your casts for display including paint effects, framing your finished casts, overcoming problems that you may encounter and you will also be able to have some actual experience of moulding a ‘real’ baby to give you some genuine experience and prepare you sufficiently; we will also cover the health and safety issues. You can take away with you the casts that you have made from our baby on the day. We will also supply you with a beginner’s pack of equipment and materials that you will need to get you started in life-casting, including a frame so that you can make up your very own sample of your work at home; a set of notes to remind you of techniques and useful tips that you may find useful; telephone and email support for 1 month after your course has finished for any part of the casting process that you are struggling with.   Click Here For Course Dates Become an Official ‘Borrowed Moments’ Caster? This is a great way to run your own mini-business under the security of the Borrowed Moments brand, you can work as many or as few hours as suits you, which is perfect if you have a young family that you wish to work around, create casts on our behalf throughout the UK. You will get help and support and an easy business model all in place for you, we are happy to train you in preparation for this, participation of our casting course, ongoing samples of your work and an interview will be necessary for you to become an approved member of our team.  We will also charge you a yearly fee of £120.00 to work as a member of our team, this fee will be due annually, this is to cover the costs of samples that you will need in order to offer our products and any referrals that we receive for castings in your area, access to our wholesale site, where you can purchase all the necessary materials and frames that you will require at reduced costs, ongoing support and advice with any casting needs, photos of finished samples for you to use for your own marketing needs. Please be aware that in order to work for us you will need to agree to only use our products, frames and finishes to make your casts, these will be available to you at very competitive prices; to accept that you will not be able to sell our products via any third parties i.e. eBay, any wholesale basis, or shops, except if this is via your own shop, please also be aware that we will also regularly check the quality of your work and your prices (guidance on prices will be given) and we will contact some of your customers to check the quality of the services you are offering on our behalf. If we find that your work or service is not of an acceptable standard then we may immediately terminate our agreement for you to work for us.
