Borrowed Moments has evolved to suit our customers, we try our best to offer what our customers ask us for, the original idea for starting this business came about several years ago when I saw a picture of these 3D casts in a magazine, I thought 'what a great idea for my mum for Christmas' but after making enquiries for a price to have a frame with my 2 youngest children's hands in, I couldn't afford it, as it cost well over a hundred and fifty pounds! I then thought, why not try to do it myself and I started finding out all about life-casting and in particularly about baby casting, I found out how to create the pieces that I wanted and I actually found it quite addictive! I started doing casts for other mums in my area then when people further afield wanted their casts done too, I thought why don't I put together a kit that offers other people like me, great value for money and a fabulous way to capture a memory forever themselves? So the Borrowed Moments range of casting kits became a reality and my own business was born. We have grown over the years and when the business had taken over our home, we decided to take on premises at Torpoint in Cornwall where we are able to offer both a personal casting service and a whole range of kits, frames and keepsakes to capture those special memories to keep in a special way. My mum always said that you only ever 'borrow' your children, because eventually they leave and make their own lives and this was what inspired me to come up with the name "Borrowed Moments" and to give others the opportunity to capture their little treasures in this special way forever too!
Because every cast taken is unique, this is a fabulous way of creating a very personal memory. We give you full instructions and helpful hints and tips so as you can create your special piece exactly how you want it. All our kits are produced in our own workshop so if you want something changed or something special, just ask and we can give you a price. Our kits contain everything you need to get creative, we are always happy to help! We are always looking at new products and our range is growing all the time. We offer kits with or without frames, we stock a variety of display plinths and we also do paint wipe and Inkless wipe kits, statue kits, personalised mugs and clay impressions as well so there really is a keepsake to suit all pockets and tastes and if you don’t fancy creating your keepsake yourself, then we offer a casting service where we do all the work for you and create your special piece to suit you.
